After a merger in 2000, RWE decided to centralise financial management of ten business units under the aegis of a holding company – RWE AG. The ensuing increase in transaction volumes for the company’s Treasury department meant that new and efficient processes and an integrated treasury management system were required. In this article the firm’s Head of Financial Risk Management describes the criteria used to select a suitable TMS and identifies the benefits which it has brought.
