Citi are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Smith as Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) for the EMEA region, based in London. Mark succeeds Ebru Pakcan, who in February was named Global Head of Trade for TTS. Mark will join the EMEA Operating Committee, and remain a member of the TTS Executive Management team. Following regulatory approval, he will assume the Senior Manager responsibilities for TTS with respect to Citi’s UK legal entities. Mark and Ebru will work together to transition the business and Senior Manager responsibilities over the coming weeks.

As the Head of TTS for EMEA, Mark will be responsible for leading the continued growth of the business in the bank’s largest region, increasing the business’s competitiveness throughout their network, and delivering innovative services in payment, cash management and trade financing to meet the rapidly evolving needs of the bank’s clients.

Mark has held several senior roles in his 22 years at Citi. He has been the Global Head of Liquidity Management for TTS since 2015, with responsibility for managing more than 50% of Citi’s deposit base. Mark has been an exceptional leader for the business, having launched new and innovative product capabilities and driven significant growth in deposits. Prior to joining TTS, Mark worked in Finance as the Regional Treasurer for Citi EMEA. He previously held a variety of roles in Markets Treasury in Citi’s Markets business, both in New York and in London.
