When we launched the CEE Corporate Treasury Survey 2026, our objective was not simply to publish another benchmarking report. It was to surface a voice that global treasury research often misses.
In collaboration with the University of Economics in Prague, we gathered insights from 90 corporate treasurers across eight CEE countries and, notably, 81% of respondents had never previously participated in a global treasury survey. That statistic alone tells us something important: this region has been operating largely outside the global treasury conversation. What we discovered is not technological backwardness. It is disciplined pragmatism.
With a particular focus on mid-size companies and major local enterprises, the survey provides a more accurate representation of the real economy in CEE than global studies focusing solely on international mega-caps – organisations with global centres of excellence, large technology budgets, and dedicated transformation teams. Their experiences are valid. But they are not representative of the real economic engine of CEE. This survey is different.
