Commerzbank appoints Jörg Motel Head of Financial Institutions Asia

Published: April 09, 2014

Jörg Motel has been appointed Head of Financial Institutions Asia.

Motel and his team in Frankfurt, as well as the 13 representative offices located across Asia, will be responsible for business with new and existing financial institution clients in Greater China & ASEAN as well as the Indian subcontinent.

Motel leaves his role as Head of Financial Institutions Services, which he has held for the past five years. Prior to joining Commerzbank in 2008, Motel worked for BW-Bank (Baden-Württembergische Bank) and LBBW (Landesbank Baden-Württemberg), and spent eight years in Asia.

Commenting on the move, Motel says: “Having spent a long and very interesting period of my career in Asia, I’m thrilled to be working with banks in this fast-moving region again. I look forward to establishing new – and refreshing old – business contacts as well as further developing the business with our FI customers. I would also like to thank my predecessor, Harald Lipkau, for having established a very successful FI platform in Asia.”
