Sara Castelhano, Managing Director, EMEA Payments & Commerce Solutions Product Head at J.P. Morgan, has been appointed the new Chair of P20.  The global payments industry group has industry-leading members including American Express, Discover, Elavon, FIS, Fiserv, Hogan Lovells, Mastercard, NatWest, Pollinate and The Clearing House.

P20 convenes industry, government and regulators to accelerate progress on their 4 Pillars:

P20 is a collaborative payments forum for thought leadership, best practice and for harmonising global standards on the issues above and regularly releases reports.

Sara Castelhano said: “I am delighted to become the new P20 Chair and to help lead P20 on these critical issues.  No one entity can solve each of these challenges – it takes collaboration across borders and organisations, and we’re excited to continue broadening participation”.

Duncan Sandys, P20 CEO said: “Sara Castelhano is one of the new generation of leaders of the global payments industry and I look forward to working with her to continue to deliver P20’s mission of making payments accessible, affordable and secure for all”.

John Hutton, outgoing P20 Chairman said: “It has been a great honor to chair P20 during the COVID-19 pandemic.  We have released groundbreaking reports on critical issues facing our industry and brought together leaders at our Global Payments Conference.  I wish Sara Castelhano all the best as she takes over as Chair”.
