Standard Chartered appoints Gwynne Master, Head of Financial Institutions, Corporate & Institutional Clients, Europe

London - Standard Chartered today announces the appointment of Gwynne Master as the new Head of Financial Institutions (FI), Europe, in the bank’s Corporate & Institutional Client (CIC) coverage segment.

Gwynne joins Standard Chartered from Barclays, Singapore where she was Managing Director, Head of Asia FI and Co-Head Asia Corporate, with a focus on Transaction Banking and Financial Markets solutions. Prior to joining Barclays in 2008, Gwynne spent 16 years at Wachovia Bank where her last role was CEO & MD, Southeast Asia based in Singapore. In her earlier career with Wachovia, Gwynne was based in the US and Italy undertaking a number of coverage and leadership roles both within Italy and the broader region.

Gwynne is a US citizen and a graduate of both the University of California (BA, Political Science) and George Washington University (MA, International Relations). Gwynne starts her new role today; she will be based in London and report jointly to Scott Barton, Regional Head, CIC Europe and Peter Heidinger, FI Head, CIC Global.
