Citi Appoints New Head of Export Agency Finance

Richard Hodder has been welcomed to Citi. Richard joined as the Global Head of Export Agency Finance (EAF) on June 13. He will be based in London.

Richard joins from HSBC, where he spent 26 years, most recently as the Global Head of Export & Asset Finance and EMEA Head of Real Assets, with responsibilities across EAF, Infrastructure Finance, Sustainable Finance – including chairing of HSBC’s Sustainable Loans Committee – and Real Asset Finance.

Alex Taylor and Sumo Panigrahi have been interim leaders of our EAF business. They will now report into Richard, along with their regional counterparts, Lynee Bradley (NAM) and Vitor Gabrielli (LatAm), and Chris Conway for Shipping. Nazli Edgu will also report to Richard in her role as Global Product Manager for EAF.

Export Agency Finance is a key pillar of Citi’s Trade and Working Capital Solutions strategy, which it remains very focused on growing in partnership with its colleagues in BCMA and CCB to deliver for its clients. EAF currently works with over 30 Export Credit Agencies around the world and its intent for this network to grow in order to support clients’ expand their reach. Citi is also continuing to see the impact that EAF can have on communities through sustainable loans and development projects, partnering with development banks and export credit agencies to make real impact.
