Citi TTS Announces New Digital Asset Team Appointments

TTS is playing a key role in Citi’s transformation, the bank continues to invest in its talent to deliver leading solutions that enable both Citi and its clients to thrive in a digital world. Key to achieving this ambition, as highlighted at Citi’s Investor Day, is to be a leader in the fast evolving digital assets space.

Ryan Rugg is joining Citi as Global Head of digital assets for Treasury and Trade Solutions. Ryan is well positioned to advance TTS to the next phase in the bank’s digital assets journey. Her most recent role was as Partner and Head of IBM Americas Blockchain team for Consulting where she helped enhance client solutions and capabilities for building digital ecosystems. Prior to that, Ryan was the Global Head of the Business Industry Unit at the enterprise software firm, R3, where she sat at the forefront of blockchain innovation across multiple industries working closely with several fortune 500 companies to build and scale their solutions. In addition, Ryan has extensive financial services experience spending 14 years on Wall Street working at Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan. Ryan is also a firm advocate of delivering through diversity and throughout her career has spearheaded several efforts to increase diversity across financial services. She will be based in New York and report into Carol with a matrix into Puneet.

David Cunningham is joining as Director and Strategic Partner Development for digital assets for TTS. In this role, he will be focused on developing Citi’s partnership strategy towards the execution of its digital assets objectives – a key component to the bank’s future success. David’s extensive experience as a serial founder & CEO in the fintech and regtech space will bring a unique perspective to this new and exciting role. Most recently he served as Chief Commercial Officer at LexTego, a regtech focused on transaction monitoring to prevent financial crime, as well as Chair of Crypto Exchange Coinmama (acquired) and entrepreneur in residence for Techstars Web3 accelerator. David will be based in Dublin and report into Kunal with a matrix into Ryan.
