HSBC Appoints Mahbub Rahman as Head of Commercial Banking, Malaysia

Mahbub Rahman has been appointed as Head of Commercial Banking, HSBC Malaysia effective August 1 2014. In this role, Mahbub will be responsible for driving the Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) and Payments and Cash Management (PCM) businesses in one of Asia’s most dynamic emerging markets.

Mahbub has over 16 years of Corporate Banking experience. He was most recently Head of Commercial Banking in Bangladesh, a role he held since 2006, with responsibilities for the GTRF and PCM businesses. During this period, he successfully led the local business through transformational growth and strongly positioned HSBC’s franchise in Bangladesh.

Mahbub will report regionally to Noel Quinn, Group General Manager and Regional Head of Commercial Banking, Asia Pacific and within Malaysia to Mukhtar Hussain, CEO of HSBC Malaysia.
