Misys announces winners of the 2015 APAC Technology Leadership Awards

LONDON – At the Misys Asia Market Forum 2015, taking place this year in Hong Kong, industry leaders in financial services have been honoured at the 2015 Misys Technology Leadership Awards for the Asia Pacific region. Misys, the leading provider of financial services software, presented the winners with the awards in recognition of their drive to improve the technology underpinning their businesses. They were presented at the Misys Asia Market Forum, taking place in Hong Kong, China with the conference theme of “Connect, Innovate, Expand”.

Among the winners of the Technology Leadership Awards were:

• Chang Hwa Bank:

Misys Technology Leadership Award for Risk Management

Chang Hwa Bank set out to unify the management and reporting of market risk and credit risk – all under one single solution. By combining the management of both risk classes using Misys FusionRisk, the bank was able to enhance its VaR calculations, provide a more user-friendly GUI to its users, simplify the maintenance of historical rate time series data and improve overall performance. The pricing with other front-, middle- and back-office systems is also now fully aligned.

• PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Hong Kong Branch

Misys Technology Leadership Award for Core Banking

BNI Hong Kong set out to increase its market share in the corporate banking arena. By modernising its core banking system, the bank is able to re-energise its lending and remittance portfolios, leveraging the Misys FusionBanking Midas and FusionBanking Trade Innovation solutions. Following a successful implementation, the bank can now achieve greater operational efficiency and better credit and settlement risk management.

• Australia New Zealand Banking Corporation:

Misys Technology Leadership Award for Lending

As part of its super regional growth strategy, ANZ has set out to consolidate its lending systems into a single, enterprise-wide core commercial loan management system. By deploying Misys FusionBanking Loan IQ, the bank is centralising its lending operations to meet the diverse needs of its commercial, corporate and institutional banking clients. The solution enables the bank to manage revenue better, reduce operational risk, support regulatory compliance and offer a set of standardised processes to deliver a consistent global customer experience.

“The 2015 APAC Technology Leadership Awards recognise the banks and financial institutions leading the way in innovation, enhancing their operations using the latest technology platforms”, stated Frank Brienzi, President and Chief Sales Officer of Misys. “We are delighted to have been able to support them as they achieve their business aspirations. We look forward to continuing to work with these leading organisations to further help them achieve their goals, build their business and better serve their customers.”

More than 250 delegates attended the Misys Asia Market Forum to hear from Misys executives and industry experts on developments and trends in financial technology and to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the financial services industry both today and into future.
