Openlink partners with Direct Swap to enhance hedging for corporates

UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Openlink, the global provider of trading and risk management solutions to the energy, commodities, and financial services industries, has partnered with Direct Swap, the premier network for commercial hedging, to provide corporations with a comprehensive and fully integrated solution for their hedging activities.

Through this partnership, Openlink will integrate its front-to- back trading platforms with Direct Swap’s solutions for commodities, interest rates and currencies hedging which were specifically developed for the modern regulatory environment. Direct Swap automates historically paper-based workflows, and provides many unique features such as peer-to- peer relationships, all in compliance with Dodd-Frank.

Combining Direct Swap’s marketplace for corporate hedging with Openlink’s leading trading and risk management system offers a compelling value proposition to the trading, treasury and procurement departments at corporations. The Openlink/Direct Swap offering allows clients to onboard quickly and develop customized hedges while achieving straight-through- processing. This powerful combination offers significant time and cost savings, plus regulatory compliance, not available elsewhere in the market.

“Dodd-Frank regulations have had a significant impact on the derivatives markets, including trading venues, market participants and liquidity. We believe peer-to- peer hedging offers corporations significant benefits in terms of reduced costs while providing new sources of liquidity, especially for the commodities markets. A key part of the Openlink offering is the breadth of our functionality, and through this partnership with the industry’s key marketplace, we are able to enhance it further.” explained Philip Wang, Senior Vice-President, Openlink.

Chip Horton, Chief Executive Officer, Direct Swap added “Combining Direct Swap’s marketplace for commercial hedging with Openlink’s leading treasury, trading, risk and operations systems creates enormous synergies. Openlink is an ideal partner for us, as their award winning solutions and preeminent client base are well positioned to maximize the potential benefits offered by Direct Swap. We are excited to begin rolling out this alliance.”
