Standard Chartered Adds to Treasury Solutions Team

Singapore – Standard Chartered has appointed Marie Hong as an Executive Director for its Global Treasury Solutions unit within its Transaction Banking Business. Marie’s appointment follows that of Jasmine Tan and Viplav Rathore in similar roles. Marie, Jasmine and Viplav report to Victor Penna, Head of Treasury Solutions, Transaction Banking.

Based in Hong Kong, Marie joins Standard Chartered from Cigna Insurance, where she was the Regional Treasurer. Prior to that, she held senior Treasury roles with Avon in the US. In her new role, Marie will support Standard Chartered’s non-bank financial institution clients in optimising their treasury and cash management functions in Asia.

Jasmine, also based in Hong Kong, joined Standard Chartered from PwC in December with 13 years of experience in professional services and treasury advisory. Jasmine will focus on regional treasury centres in Hong Kong.

Viplav is based with London, and responsible for covering European-based clients. He joined the Bank in November, bringing with him over 16 years of banking and treasury experience. He was a senior Treasury Director at GE Treasury prior to joining Standard Chartered.

Commenting on the appointments, Victor Penna said, “We are very pleased to welcome Marie, Jasmine and Viplav to the team. The deep expertise they bring to the team will strengthen our treasury advisory capability and enable us to better deliver on the value added advice and solutions that clients are increasingly expecting their banks to provide. These appointments, combined with the recent rollout of new cash and liquidity management platforms across our footprint markets, underscore the Bank’s commitment to delivering sophisticated global and regional cash management solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.”

Established in 2013, Standard Chartered’s Global Treasury Solutions unit is a dedicated team of treasury professionals based in key treasury centres around the world. Leveraging the bank’s strong footprint in emerging markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, the team works with clients to optimise their treasury practices, supporting the growth of their businesses domestically and internationally.
